Consumers in contact with us have been testing products for years, often times up to a decade and still enjoy it. A common reason they remain happy is the fact that they are shipped multiple products per month and are allowed to give their completely honest feedback to the brands they know well (while getting paid for it)!
Top consumer brands do market research to gather the opinion of the general public to perfect products before launching them in stores nationwide. These companies pay you, the consumer, and in turn can save some headaches in the future because they know exactly what to expect instead of launching a product blindly.
So How Does Product Testing Work?
First, you will need to register with a company that offers product testing at home. Once registration is complete and your email is confirmed, you can begin receiving emails to fill out screeners to see if you’ll qualify for their current product test. When you fill out the screener survey, they will let you know at the end if you qualify or not. For example, if a beauty company is looking for opinions of their new eyeliner, they most likely will only accept female applicants.
Once you are approved, the company in question will ask for your address to send you the product to test for a short period of time. They will follow up with you with an email asking questions about the product you’ve tested, and when you’re done you get paid! On certain occasions you may even get to keep the product; if not, a pre-paid shipping label will be supplied.
How Much Can You Make Being a Product Tester?
The amount that you get paid varies. It depends on the category that the product is in, however you can usually expect to be paid between $4 to $150 per review. An example of a high paying “job” would be a test of the new HBO beta website with a payout of $100.
